20 years ULTRAS RAPID + GATE 13 PANATHINAIKOS

20 years ago an amazing Story of Brothership started.

We remember like it was yesterday when we met for the first time in Vienna. It was 2 different worlds we are diving in but from the first moment it was not only the colours green and white which united us it was the way of thinking the way of loving our teams. 2 days later we stand together in the away sector in Graz against Sturm and we had the honour after such short time to put our banner over the one from Voria Proastia. So everything starts officially. These amazing first hours will be always in oUR hearts.

After this, we came with a big number to Prague to support Panathinaikos against Sparta (which we did in total 3 times). Your first visit to Vienna took place and our visit to Athens and we were so impressed with the amazing philoxenia we lived in Athens. We were also fascinated by the tension and violence of the Greek football culture in the same way like you were fascinated by our Organisation and Choreos (i think the most sentence I’ve heard in all the years was „Brother – Ultras Rapid is so well organised). Ok, the Greek mentality is a little bit more chaotic, but after some years of our Brothership, both groups find a good way to import the things from the others. We increased in riots and intensity, you did in organisation and choreographies, lets in all the spectrum of Ultras Movement.

The first years were filled with many highlights we lived with each other. After some years it was more than visible that this becomes more than a friendship, we become brothers and after a while, it felt also more intensive than this, we are like a real family. Many members of UR and G13 have also amazing private contact and call themselves real brothers. We spent weddings and other funny parties together and also sad funerals when green white brothers left this world into the green-white universe…

Also, in sports, we spent amazing parties together, some glory nights in Europe in Football at Rapid and PAO, and also some titles. Much less than our historical teams deserve but we celebrate them even more crazy. With you guys, we had the opportunity to follow other sports and to live that it’s possible to support them at the same level as football. We remember a lot of glory trips in Basket.

Of course, we lived also sad things in the curvas together. We were shocked when we saw the glory Gate 13 in two parts in 2006 and also not so long time ago. For us, it’s very difficult because the friendship starts with Voria and Patissia, and later with many other clubs of Gate 13. After the years we feel very deep feelings for all the G13 Clubs in Athens and also from Eparchia. Many guys of us every summer combine holidays with visits to the local clubs on the Greek seaside or on the islands.

We hope this year it’s possible again to visit you for a nice 20 years celebration we are talking about for many months…

The times now a kind of surreal and difficult, but regarding our brothership it’s important to stay in contact, to make influence to the new generations to feel and live this unique brothership even though we are far away in kilometers, but very close in our green white hearts. This spirit will never die!

Ultras Rapid say EFCHARISTO PARA POLY for the first 20 years of a never-ending story. We appreciate everything we lived together, in good and in bad times and we cannot wait until we are together in the curva in Wien or Athens to sing together for the most beautiful colours all over the world.
